Elo Pay 15″ — Self-Order Kiosks Where Ordering and Paying Happen on One Screen
Most kiosk deployments split the transaction: the customer orders on a screen, then moves to a pin pad, or worse, to a counter. Every handover is a place where the queue stalls and someone needs help. The Elo Pay 15″ puts the contactless reader inside the terminal, so a customer browses the menu, builds an order and taps to pay without moving or looking anywhere else.
H2: What a kiosk is actually bought for
Operators don’t buy kiosks for the hardware. They buy them for three things: more orders through the door at peak, a higher average order value because a screen upsells consistently and never forgets, and the ability to cover a shift when the team is short. All three depend on the kiosk being fast and unambiguous — which is why removing the payment handover matters more than it sounds. A customer who has to work out where to pay is a customer holding up the queue.
The terminal supports ten-point touch on a 15.6-inch Full HD display, wide enough for a menu with images rather than a list, and responsive enough that a confident customer can get through an order quickly without the screen fighting them.
Menu changes without a site visit
Menus change constantly — day parts, LTOs, seasonal items, price changes, an ingredient that hasn’t arrived. Running the estate through EloView means content updates deploy remotely to every site at once, and a franchise group can push a national change without depending on each location to action it. Provisioning happens through EloView or Google Zero Touch, so a replacement unit arrives, gets plugged in, and configures itself rather than needing someone technical on site.
If you’re already standardised on an Android MDM, Elo’s OEMConfig support exposes the device APIs through that platform instead.
Built to sit in a dining room
VESA 75mm and 100mm mounting covers the stand types a restaurant actually needs — floor-standing units near the entrance, countertop units on a service bar, wall or pole mounts where floor space is tight. The same terminal covers all of them, which matters when you’re rolling out across sites with different footprints and don’t want three hardware SKUs in the spares plan.
Edge Connect ports along the display edge take a status light, a speaker bar and a 2D barcode scanner directly on the unit. The scanner is the one worth planning for: loyalty apps, order-ahead QR codes and voucher redemption all depend on it, and a scanner attached to the terminal is one less thing to mount, cable and clean around.
Hardware that holds up to a full service
The Qualcomm Snapdragon QCS6490 octa-core processor with 8GB of RAM drives the menu app, and the terminal has a demonstrated MTBF of 50,000 hours. Power draw is 9.2W typical, which is worth knowing when you’re siting several units on one circuit. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 handle wireless; Gigabit Ethernet and optional Power over Ethernet cover fixed installs, and PoE in particular simplifies a floor-standing kiosk by reducing what has to reach the unit.
