Description
Opticon SE-420 — Digital Price Labels for Counters, Delis and Grab-and-Go
Food pricing moves constantly. Costs shift, specials change daily, and yesterday’s laminated card is already wrong. The SE-420 is a 4.2-inch e-paper price label you update from a screen instead of a printer — small enough for counter rails and chilled display shelves, and legible enough to read across a service counter.
Specials that change with the day, not the print run
Change a price or swap a special from the Opticon ESL Web Server Software and every label reflects it in seconds. No printing, no cutting, no laminating, no drawer of obsolete cards. For anyone running daily changing lines — bakery, deli, fish counter, chef’s specials — that’s the difference between accurate pricing and pricing that’s accurate most of the time.
Room for what customers actually need to know
The display is fully graphical at 400 x 300 pixels, so a single label carries more than a number: product name, price per item and per kilogram, origin, cooking or serving suggestion, and a QR code linking to full ingredient and allergen information. Templates are entirely customisable, so labels carry your brand rather than a generic layout. The high-contrast e-paper surface reads cleanly at an angle, which is how customers actually look at a counter display.
Color that does a job
The SE-420R shows black, white and red. The SE-420RY adds yellow. For food service that second color earns its place quickly — red for a reduction or an allergen flag, yellow for a new line or a chef’s special, black for standard pricing. Customers parse the counter faster, and staff spend less time answering the same question.
No cables, no sockets, no rewiring the counter
Each label runs on internal batteries over a wireless link, so mounting is a clip or bracket and nothing else. Nothing to route through a counter, no socket to find, no electrician. Move a line to a different shelf and the label goes with it. On four CR2450 cells at five updates a day the SE-420 lasts approximately five years, and the RGB locator LED can flag a reduced item or draw attention to a promotion when you want it to.
